Getting started

Step 1 - Email me

If you would like to consider working with me, you can email me. Please provide me with some times that are convenient, to call you for a free 15 minute phone or video call if you prefer. 

Step 2 - Free 15 minute phone or video call

The free 15 minute phone or video call, gives you the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have and to see if you feel you can work with me.

If you feel I’m not the right person for you for whatever reason, I can try to give you a recommendation to another therapist in your area. I will do my best to assist you

Step 3 - Booking an initial appointment

If you decide that you would like to book an initial 50 minute appointment, I will ask you how you wish to be contacted. This could be Zoom, Skype, FT, phone whatever works best for you. I will then contact you with;

  1. Agreed time and contact information for the appointment

  2. Short form to be completed prior the initial consultation

  3. Contract to take a look at

  4. Payment options

  5. Cancellation policy

Step 3 - Initial Appointment - what happens in the initial 50 minute appointment?

You will have filled in your short form. We can quickly go over that and the contract I’ve sent you to see if there is anything you are not ok with or don’t understand.

This isn’t as daunting as it sounds, to start therapy together it makes it safer for both of us if we understand the boundaries i.e. time limits, confidentiality, how we will work together and what you can expect.

You can discuss anything you want to in sessions and tell me what you aim to gain from our work together. This will allow you to see, if working with me is a good fit. 

I will try to give you an indication of how long the work might take. Although that’s a bit tricky because you never know what will come out during the work.

Step 4 - 50 minute sessions

Going forward the sessions will be 50 minutes in length.

It will be up to you how many sessions you wish to have.

I am happy for our work to be short term, goal focused or ongoing.
